(Lansing) – Gary G. Naeyaert, Executive Director of the Great Lakes Education Project (GLEP) released the following statement today after the United States Senate voted 51-50 to confirm Mrs. Betsy DeVos as the 11th U.S. Secretary of Education.
“This is a great day for students and families in all 50 states. For decades Mrs. DeVos has been a passionate advocate for choice, quality and accountability in education. Now that the hyper-partisan confirmation process is behind us, we hope all education stakeholders will judge Secretary DeVos based on her actions in office rather than pre-conceived talking points.”
